Professor Mohammad Absar Kamal

I am delighted and honored to have been appointed the Director (Acting) of the Institute of Modern Languages (IML), University of Dhaka. I assume my position to contribute value and make a positive impact, and I am dedicated to acting with integrity to achieve positive results for the Institute and its stakeholders. We aim to build a multilingual culture based on foreign languages to highlight the importance of foreign languages in the education system of the country. The main reason for not being able to do this for a long time is that foreign languages have always been neglected in the education system of our country. Throughout my journey with IML, previously as a student and at present, as a faculty member, I have witnessed and experienced the consistent growth of this institute in working to teach various foreign languages. These equip students in multiple professions with the skills and opportunities to gain valuable experiences abroad.

This institute plays a pivotal role in improving students' performance in many languages and helping them become proficient in their respective languages. IML is committed to helping them gain more confidence in their capacity to communicate in different languages.
