Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Bangladesh Yasoja Gunasekera called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today, October 15, 2015 at his residential office of the university.

During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs by the University of Dhaka and higher educational institutions in Sri Lanka. They also discussed regarding strengthening further bi-lateral relationship between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The High Commissioner sought cooperation from the Vice-Chancellor of increasing seats for Sri Lankan students at Dhaka University during the discussion. The Vice-Chancellor assured the High Commissioner of providing all possible cooperation in this regard. They stressed the need for exchange of cultural teams as well as increasing of tourism network between the two countries.

The Vice-Chancellor thanked the guest for her visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
