During the meeting the Vice-Chancellor apprised the Ambassador of brief history of Dhaka University and its academic and research activities. He said, the friendly ties between Bangladesh and Korea have been prevailing for a long time. Korea has contributed a lot to overall socio-economic development of Bangladesh. This bilateral relationship will be further strengthened in the days to come, he hoped.
They discussed matters of mutual interests especially the progress of ongoing pilot project titled ‘Capacity Building of Universities in Bangladesh to Promote Youth Entrepreneurship’ at Dhaka University with financial assistance from KOICA. They also discussed the possibilities of further expansion of ongoing Korean Language Program at DU. The Ambassador stressed the need for promoting entrepreneurs at university level to build Smart Bangladesh and increasing language skills of DU students for better employment in Korea. He assured the VC of providing all possible support and cooperation in this regard.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the Korean Ambassador for his visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
