Turkish Ambassador Mr. Ramis Sen called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal today November 22, 2023 at the latter’s office of the university. He was accompanied by Mr. Macit Koc, Coordinator of the Yunus Emre Institute.
DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad, Treasurer Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, Director of the Institute of Modern Languages Prof. Dr. A B M Razaul Karim Faquire and Registrar Probir Kumar Sarker were present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of expansion of ‘Turkish Language courses’ at the Institute of Modern Languages of DU. The Ambassador sought cooperation from the Vice-Chancellor to promote Turkish Language and Culture at DU. The VC assured the Ambassador of providing all possible support and cooperation in this regard. They also discussed the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs among Dhaka University and the universities of Turkey. They agreed to sign MoU in this regard soon.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal said, Bangladesh and Turkey have been enjoying historical, social and cultural relations for long time. He thanked the Turkish Ambassador for his visit to and keen interest in strengthening academic and research cooperation with Dhaka University.
Later, Turkish envoy visited the Institute of Modern Languages of DU and exchanged views with faculty members to enhance joint collaborative academic and research programs.
