Six meritorious students of the Department of Japanese Studies of Dhaka University (DU) have received Mitsubishi Corporation Scholarship for their outstanding academic performances. Country Representative of Mitsubishi Corporation in Bangladesh Mr. Myungho Lee handed over a cheque for Tk. 7 lac 92 thousand to the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal today January 31, 2024 at the latter’s office to award scholarship among the students. Each student has been given Tk 1 lac 32 thousand as the scholarship money.

Chairman of the Department of Japanese Studies Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, Associate Prof. Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun, Director of DU Public Relations Office Mahmood Alam, and high officials from Mitsubishi Corporation were present on this occasion.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal thanked Mitsubishi Corporation authorities specially Mr. Myungho Lee for providing scholarship to DU brilliant students. Terming Japan as one of the largest development partners and friendly country of Bangladesh DU VC said, Mitsubishi is a big Corporation of Japan. Support and Cooperation of Mitsubishi Corporation will continue in the days to come, DU VC hoped. He requested Mitsubishi Corporation Country Representative to organize seminars for DU students.

Country Representative of Mitsubishi Corporation in Bangladesh Mr. Myungho Lee said, DU is a number one university in Bangladesh and our support and cooperation to DU would be enhanced.

The recipients of the scholarships are- Azmir Alam, Shabib Md. Shadakatul Baree, Shanria Jebin, Mohsina Nawaz, Peyas Kumar Paul and S M Rifat Hossain..
