A 11-member delegation of Kyushu University (KU), Japan led by KU Senior Vice-President Prof. Akira Harata called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal yesterday evening, March 06, 2024 at the latter’s residence office of the university. Other team members include KU Vice-President Prof. Shuji Shimizu, Prof. Tomohiko Akahoshi, Prof Kazuo Asahiro and Prof. Saha Bidyut Baran.

Provost of DU Amar Ekushey Hall Prof. Dr. Ishtiaque M. Syed was present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest especially the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative research and academic programs between Dhaka University and Kyushu University of Japan. They stressed the need for exchange of teachers, researchers and students between these two universities. They agreed in principle to hold joint seminar and workshop between these two institutions to enhance mutual collaboration.

 DU VC Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal thanked KU delegation for their visit to and keen interest in strengthening academic and research collaboration with DU.
