Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Mr. Taeyoung Kim called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal today May 09, 2024 at the latter’s office of the university. He was accompanied by Deputy Country Director of KOICA Mr. Yang Hyunwoo.
Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Moyeen, Chairman of the Department of Organization Strategy and Leadership Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shariat Ullah and Executive Director of Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Center (ICE) Associate Prof. Md. Rashedur Rahman were present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest especially regarding overall development and progress of ongoing pilot project titled “Capacity Building of Universities in Bangladesh to Promote Youth Entrepreneurship” at Dhaka University. It may be mentioned that this project is being implemented with the financial assistance from KOICA to promote education and research as well as innovative skills. Under this project, various development works including infrastructural development, curriculum development as well as research, training, dialogue, seminar and workshop on entrepreneurship education will be conducted. Besides, academicians, policy makers and some students will get the opportunities to visit Korea for acquiring practical knowledge and sharing experiences regarding entrepreneurship.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal thanked the KOICA Country Director for providing support and cooperation to implement the pilot project at DU. This project will produce skilled entrepreneurs in the country, he hoped. He stressed the need for undertaking more collaborative academic and research projects on science and technology among Dhaka University and different universities in Korea.
