A 18-member delegation led by Dr. Wali Tasar Uddin, President of Europe-Bangladesh Federation of Commerce and Industry (EBFCI) called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan today October 02, 2024 at the latter’s office of the university.

Treasurer of DU Prof. Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Prof. Dr. Taiabur Rahman of Development Studies Department, Prof. Hasan A. Shafie of Anthropology Department and Associate Professor Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun of Japanese Studies Department were, among others, present on this occasion.

            During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of strengthening collaboration and sharing knowledge and idea among academia, industry and entrepreneur. They stressed the need for establishment of endowment fund with financial assistance from EBFCI for conducting advanced level research at DU and providing scholarship for DU students. They also discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs on science and technology, ICT, trade and business among the University of Dhaka and different European academic institutions. Arranging of conference, seminar, symposium, workshop and training program under the joint auspices of DU and different European universities were also discussed in the meeting. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan sought cooperation from EBFCI delegation in this regard. He thanked EBFCI delegation members for visit to and keen interest in strengthening collaboration between Industry and Academia.
