Dr. Mohammad Ferdows is a Professor of Applied Mathematics and Group leader of the Research Group of Fluid Flow Modeling and Simulation at the Department of Applied Mathematics, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has completed his Ph.D. in Fluid and thermal Engineering from Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan in 2006.
His research includes the Molecular simulation on clathrate hydrates as well as nanomaterials. Also, Numerical simulation on fluid flows including convective boundary layer flow, nanofluid, micropolar fluid, polar fluid through porous media and MHD.
He undertook postdoctoral work at Toyota Technological Institute, Japan Atomic Energy Agency, National Cheng Kung University. Also, he worked as a Researcher at Tokyo Metropolitan University, University Sains Malaysia, Shizuoka University, and Osaka University, Japan. He worked at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece, and Louisiana Tech University, USA as a Visiting Professor. Meantime, he was (and is) working in adjunct faculty positions in various Universities in Bangladesh.
He received the prestigious Dean's Award from the Faculty of Science at the University of Dhaka for excellent contribution in the field of scientific research work. He was the recipient of fellowships/ awards from, National Science Foundation Fellowship USA, The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, JAEA Fellowship Japan, Center for excellence fellowship: National Cheng Kung University, Fellowship from Yazaki Memorial Foundation for Science and Technology Japan, Toyota Foundation Fellowship Japan, Toyota Foundation Fellowship, Monbukagakusho Scholarship (Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), Fellowship from Twenty University The Netherlands, Fellowship from Liverpool University UK and Fellowship from Dhaka University Bangladesh. He has published so far 220 Research papers in journals and conferences. He is serving as a referee in more than 66 journals from USA, UK and others. He is a member of the American Mathematical Society, life member of Bangladesh Mathematical society, and Bangladesh Mechanical Engineering society.
