Subject | Description | Research Interest (Goal, Target Indicator) |
---|---|---|
Microbiology, Environmental Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology | 1. Application of magnetic separation technique in citric acid fermentation. 2. Bangladesh is a riverine country and our inland water bodies are somehow polluted with chemical and bacterial contaminant. Therefore, one of my research interests is on environmental microbiology. 3. Wastewater Treatment by magnetic activated sludge (MAS) process a new technology developed my postdoc supervisor of Utsunomiya University, Japan. A collaboration work is going on this process in the Water treatment Laboratory of Utsunomiya University. 4. Textile dyeing industries of Bangladesh are discharging their wastewater directly to the nearby water bodies without any treatment. This wastewater must be treated prior to discharge in order to comply with the environmental protection laws for the receiving waters. On this point of view my research interest is on biological treatment of this textile dying wastewater. 5. Raw salad materials contain essential ingredients of a healthy diet, and the demand for salad vegetables are increasing day by day. The phytonutrients can act as effective media for the transmission of enteric bacterial pathogens like coliform bacteria. Therefore another research interest is on the coliform bacteria associated with the fresh salad materials and ready-to eat fresh vegetables and fruits. Evaluation of multi drug resistance pattern of this bacteria associated with the fresh salad materials. 6. Bangladesh is a tropical country and may be rich in important indigenous bacteria of interest. Therefore, my research is focused on the isolation of biotechnologically important indigenous protease, amylase and producing bacteria. 7. Isolation and screening of Exopolysaccharide (EPS) and pigment producing bacteria from different habitats. 8. Isolation and characterization of bacteria for lipase production and its biotechnological application. 9. Isolation of indigenous biopolymer producing bacteria. 10. Antimicrobial activities of local medicinal plants. |
