Anika Begum is currently working as a Lecturer in the Department of Japanese Language and Culture at the Institute of Modern Languages, University of Dhaka. She completed both her bachelor's and master's degrees at the same institution. As a MEXT Scholar, she spent two years (2021-2023) as a research student at Yamagata University, Japan. Anika Begum successfully passed the JLPT N1 (The highest level of Japanese language Proficiency) in July 2023. She successfully completed a 60 Hour online training course titled "Basic Training for the Japanese Language Teachers in Bangladesh conducted by the Japanese Language Teachers' Association of Bangladesh (JALTAB).
Her first visit to Japan was in 2018 as a participant in the JENESYS program. She has actively engaged in academic activities, including presenting a paper at the National Conference on Foreign Language and Culture at the Institute of Modern Languages. She was awarded 2nd place in the 10th National Japanese Speech Contest.
Anika Begum is a lifetime member of the Japanese Language Teachers' Association of Bangladesh (JALTAB) and is committed to advancing Japanese language education and research in Bangladesh. She aims to make significant contributions to the field through innovative teaching methods and the development of appropriate educational materials.
