Muhamad Ruhul Amin completed BSS and MSS degrees from the Department of International Relations, University of Dhaka. Later he studied International Economics from International University of Japan. Amin has been teaching at the Department of International Relations in the University of Dhaka for about three decades and currently working as the Professor and Chairman of the Department. On extraordinary leave from Dhaka University, he also worked as the Dean of Business and Social Sciences of Sylhet International University. As a life-awakening writer he has been contributing in a wide range of domestic and global issues that include politics, development, international system, foreign policy, peace and conflicts, religion and society, economic integration, interstate cooperation, international business and so on. As a vibrant civil society ambassador, he has always been active in writing newspaper columns in the national and international dailies and appeared as the Talk-Star on various TV channels and electronic media.

In addition to teaching and research, Amin’s hobby and interest lie in thinking for society and its people. He is involved in multifarious social welfare activities, NGOs, civil societies, and development organizations. He worked as the Sports Teacher of the Department of International Relations and House Tutor of Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahamn Hall of Dhaka University. He has been the member of Dhaka University Academic Council, Dhaka University Club, Center for advanced Studies of Dhaka University, Syndicate and Academic Council member of Sylhet International University. He has worked as the micro-credit consultant of CCDB, BRAC, Caritas, IC consult Netherlands. Also he has been associated in project preparation and project evaluation of a number of national and international organizations such as World Bank, IC Consult Netherlands, Grameen Bank, and BRAC.
