Sharowat Shamin joined the University of Dhaka (DU) in 2016. She holds two LLMs in International Environmental and Energy Law (University of Oslo) and International and Comparative Law (University of Dhaka). Before joining DU, she taught law at BRAC University and Northern University Bangladesh. She worked in Bangladesh Civil Service as an Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner during 2014-15. Throughout her career, she held consultancy at various government bodies as well as local and international environmental and human rights NGOs. She is particularly interested in energy law and climate change, constitutionalism, and human rights law. Sharowat is a Commonwealth Scholar, currently pursuing her PhD in Energy, Climate Change, and Development Law at the SOAS University of London.Read less
