Fifteen meritorious students of the Department of Mathematics and the Department of English of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded Trust Fund Scholarship. Among them, 7 students of Mathematics Department have received ‘Prof. Dr. Md. Mokhlesur Rahman Turst Fund Scholarship. 8 other students from English Department have received ‘Mazeda Khatun Memorial Trust Fund Scholarship’. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan distributed scholarships among the students as chief guest at a function held today November 25, 2024 at VC’s Meeting Room of the university.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) of DU Prof. Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha presided over the function while Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof. Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Abdus Salam, Chairperson of the Department of English Prof. Dr. Zerin Alam, Chairperson of the Department of Mathematics Prof. Shapla Shirin, some other teachers and donor’s family members were present on this occasion.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan congratulated the recipients of the scholarship and said, success of the student who obtains outstanding result is being recognized by awarding scholarship.  Students will be inspired by such type of scholarship, he hoped. He also thanked the donors of the Trust Fund for their donation.

The recipients of ‘Mazeda Khatun Memorial Trust Fund Scholarship’ are Md. Rojibul Islam, Nipu Khan, Muhammad Zobayer Islam, Tanjim Sadiya Sejuti, Most. Usha Ibnay Jahan Suborna, Esrat Jahan Runa, Sumi Akter and Mohammed Yousuf.

The recipients of ‘Prof. Dr. Md. Mokhlesur Rahman Turst Fund Scholarship’ are Md. Alamgir Mia, Md. Asaduzamman, Md. Rakibul, Sharmin Parveen, Sraboni Rani Acharya, Md. Solaiman Hossain and Tanjina Bithi.
