Department of Finance, University of Dhaka conducted a session on September 13, 2022, Tuesday for its graduating students from Finance 24th Batch to provide them the detail guidance to prepare their internship report which is a key requirement for the completion of BBA degree. Mr. Md. Saimum Hossain, and the members of BBA 24th batch exam committee jointly hosted the session. About two hundred graduating students from the 24th Batch of the Department of Finance attended the session.
In his speech, Mr. Md. Saimum Hossain, stressed the importance of joining as an intern in an organization as it provides a platform to get introduced to the work environment of diverse types of organizations, familiarized with personalities of distinct types of individuals, and acquainted with skills required for doing job in organizations. Besides, Mr. Hossain provided guidance on how to select the topic for internship report in a way which will create interests for all, and which require strong involvement of students. Ms. Shabnaz Amin, the Chairman of BBA 24th batch exam committee and the director of BBA program outlined the steps and structure to be followed for preparing a standard internship report. She encouraged students to experience the internship period to the full extent and count it as a learning opportunity.
Mr. Md. Imran Hossain, member of BBA 24th batch exam committee shared his experience of doing project paperwork during his study in Monash University. He highlighted the key areas to be focused for preparing the research section of internship report, guided the ways to find out the research questions, and discussed the structure of internship report. Mr. Mohd. Anisul Islam, another member of BBA 24th batch exam committee, put importance on taking the internship requirement seriously as it provides students the opportunity to make themselves prepared for professional life. He also guided students to adopt with the office decorum of the institution seriously as intern students are evaluated by their supervisors and it is likely that some interns are offered full time job opportunities upon the satisfactory report from supervisor.
The session ended by answering to the questions of the participating students on preparation of report, choosing the topic, and selecting the right organization for internship etc.
