Commemorating Emeritus Professor Dr. Najma Chowdhury
To commemorate the eventful life and contribution of Dr. Najma Chowdhury, the Department of Women and Gender Studies organized a commemoration program on 13 August Friday at 3.30 pm in zoom. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Dr. Sadeka Halim from the University of Dhaka, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Parween Hasan of Central Women's University, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Hamida Akhter Begum of IUBAT, Former Vice-Chancellor Dr. Harun-Or-Rashid of Bangladesh National University and many other distinguished guests attended this program. Professor emeritus of Dhaka University (DU) Najma Chowdhury, the prominent academic, who pioneered in establishing women studies in Bangladesh, breathed her last at a Dhaka hospital on Sunday morning, August 8, 2021.
