DWGS Wins ‘Best Poster’ 3rd Prize Award at the Faculty of Social Sciences, DU ‘Research and Publication Fair 2022’
The Dhaka University authorities have organized a two-day long ‘Research Fair’ on 22 and 23 October , 22 to let the researchers showcase their research and publications. The fair was held at the central playground of Dhaka University and was the first in the university’s history. As part of this great initiative, DWGS published special ‘brochures’ highlighting its research activities, academic programmes and outlook. The DWGS stall was nicely decorated with feminist quotes, thoughtful posters, the centinial book published from the department, research materials, and the department’s own publications. The students and faculties of the department equipped the stall with their active presence. They presented three DU Centenary Research Grants (CRG) funded research posters by respected faculties: Dr. Sayed Saikh Imtiaz, Dr. Sanzida Akhter and Aumio Srizan Samya. Additionally, the best research poster of recent graduate student Tahdia Khan has been displayed in the DWGS stall. This showcasing welcomes DWGS members to join us in admiration of the exemplary scholarship of our graduate and undergraduate students.
Besides, some subject-oriented books authored by the department’s faculty members were also displayed in the stall. The most exciting part of this event was to win the 3rd prize in the ‘best poster’ category among 16 other departments of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Dhaka. Chairperson, Dr. Umme Busra Fateha Sultana, received the award from the honorable Vice Chancellor, University of Dhaka on behalf of the department.
