Ninth Dhaka International Conference on Women in Cinema
The Rainbow Film Society, in collaboration with the Department of Women and Gender Studies at the University of Dhaka, organised the Ninth Dhaka International Conference on Women in Film in 2023, just as it did in the previous few years. The two daylong conference was held in the Dhaka Club Samson Lounge on 15 and 16 January 2023. A great number of women filmmakers, performers, critics and notable personalities from home and abroad attended this conference. The goal of the conference was to enhance the quality and substance of films focusing on women. The conference also aimed at developing connections among women currently engaged in the film industry through the exchange of ideas and the sharing of diverse experiences. Dr. Umme Busra Fateha Sultana, Chair, Department of Women and Gender Studies, University of Dhaka and Dr. Ishrat Jahan Khan, Assistant Professor were present in this two daylong conference.
